Overview

CoreText LLC develops Luna, an N-body wave evolution simulator, and related products. This privacy policy describes how we handle user data across our desktop applications, command-line tools, and web platform.

Desktop, Mobile & CLI Apps

Luna is available as a GUI application (Mac, Windows, iOS) and a command-line tool (Mac, Linux). All versions run entirely on your device and do not:

  • Collect personal information (name, email, location, etc.)
  • Use analytics or tracking services
  • Send data to any server
  • Use cookies or similar technologies
  • Access your contacts, photos, or other personal files

All simulation data, preset files, and exported files (SpaceWave .swv, CSV, Excel) are stored locally on your device. The app only accesses files you explicitly open or save through system file dialogs.

Web Platform (core-text.com)

The Luna web simulator at core-text.com requires an account. When you sign in, we collect:

  • Name and email address — provided by your identity provider
  • Provider ID — a unique identifier from your identity provider, used to link your account
  • Subscription status — your current plan tier (Free, Pro, Enterprise) if applicable
  • Simulation presets — custom presets you save to your account

Authentication Providers

We use the following third-party identity providers for authentication via OAuth 2.0:

  • Apple (Sign in with Apple)
  • Google (Google Sign-In)
  • GitHub (GitHub OAuth)
  • Microsoft (Microsoft Account / Azure AD) — for Enterprise tier

We receive your name and email from these providers during sign-in. We do not store your password — authentication is handled entirely by your chosen provider. OAuth tokens are used once during login and are not persisted.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe (web, Windows, Linux) or Apple (App Store subscriptions on Mac and iOS). CoreText LLC does not store credit card numbers or payment credentials. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status from the payment provider.

Cookies

The web platform uses essential session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following services:

  • Apple — authentication (Sign in with Apple) and payment (StoreKit / App Store subscriptions)
  • Google — authentication (Google Sign-In)
  • GitHub — authentication (GitHub OAuth)
  • Microsoft — authentication (Azure AD) for Enterprise accounts
  • Stripe — payment processing for web, Windows, and Linux subscriptions

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting contact@core-text.com. Upon deletion, your name, email, provider ID, subscription status, and saved presets are permanently removed.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all data
  • Export — request your data in a portable format

Children’s Privacy

Luna is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
